Why Choose JC’s Recovery?
People come from all over the country to our Hollywood, Florida, location for treatment of drug and alcohol addiction — including Dallas. Often, treatment for drug addiction will begin with the detox period. This is when you stop taking drugs and go through withdrawal symptoms, such as nausea, body aches and pains, and problems sleeping. Because there is a risk for severe withdrawal symptoms, you should complete the detox process at either a hospital or inpatient treatment facility.
Once you’ve completed the detox process, you can come to our facility to participate in outpatient rehabilitation therapy. We offer several programs, including partial hospitalization and intensive outpatient treatment. Examples of the approaches you may participate in while in treatment include counseling sessions, support groups, and medications aimed at deterring drinking or reducing your cravings for alcohol.
How Our Christian Drug Rehab Treatment Program Works
Our Christian drug rehab treatment program works by combining an emphasis on faith, including prayer, with well-researched techniques that have helped people just like you overcome addiction.
Our program starts with the intake process. During that time, you talk with one of our counselors about your history of substance abuse and your treatment goals. It’s okay if you don’t “know all the answers” at this meeting. It’s also a time where you can hear what programs are available to you, including spiritual counseling, faith-based support groups, and wellness programs, such as how to incorporate meditation.
Through participation in this program, we hope that you’ll grow in your faith, and your strength and commitment to God and to living your life for Him while free of substance abuse.
What To Expect During Treatment
Every person’s treatment experience at JC’s Recovery may be slightly different. This is because we don’t take a one-size-fits-all mindset to rehabilitation. Instead, we consider your unique mental, physical, and spiritual needs when you’re in recovery. We discuss some of the techniques you may wish to try, including alternative therapy treatments, such as meditation, massage, and acupuncture.
As with our other treatment programs, this treatment process also incorporates faith-based counseling. Alcoholics Anonymous and the popular “12 steps” are rooted in a belief in a higher power. We can help you transition to these or other faith-based programs when you complete treatment and return to Dallas. What you can expect is that treatment can be challenging and fulfilling. You will also be able to learn more about yourself while strengthening your relationship with God. Our therapists and counselors are committed to helping you find your motivations and purpose for continuing in your sobriety.
As you near the completion of your program, we will help you plan for what life will be like when you return to the “real world.” We’ll discuss relapse prevention strategies, such as what to do if you’re offered a drink or drugs again. And we’ll also guide you on how to deal with the inevitable hard days when you’re feeling low and tempted to return to your previous life of substance abuse.
What Does A Day Look Like at JC’s Recovery?
When you participate in the Christian-based program at JC’s Recovery, your day often begins with a therapist meeting. Sometimes, this may be an assessment, where you can talk with your therapist about parts of your past that could impact your recovery. These include trauma, grief, and mental health disorders, such as anxiety, depression, and personality disorders. If you experience these or other conditions, it’s essential to know because we can help you treat them while going through treatment at JC’s Recovery.
Other times, you will participate in your addiction therapy sessions where you talk about a variety of topics, including education about addiction, how you’re feeling in recovery, and how addiction has affected your life and your family. These counseling sessions will also have a Christian focus, including what God tells us about hope, recovery, and overcoming challenges.
You may also participate in faith-based group sessions. This may include Narcotics Anonymous or Alcoholics Anonymous meetings or other sessions, depending upon the day. There are also motivational speaking sessions where you hear from other Christians who may have struggled with addiction or other challenges in their lives and learn how they overcame them.
Incorporated into the day are times for your brain to “rest and restore.” This includes downtime for meals and snacks as well as the incorporation of alternative healing therapies. Examples may include meditation and massage. By creating the right blend of programming for you, it will help you heal mentally and physically.
Christian Rehab For Street Drugs
If you or a loved one has a history of abusing street drugs, such as cocaine, methamphetamine, or heroin, JC’s Recovery offers Christian-based rehabilitation to help. Treatment begins with an intake discussion of the street drugs you’re currently using. Knowing the drugs you’ve been using and how long can help us guide you through the detox process and treatment.
Our faith-based street drug rehabilitation programs include services such as:
- One-on-one counseling
- Group counseling
- Motivational and inspirational speakers
- Randomized drug testing (if needed to complete programs for your insurance or other entity)
- Assessments for past trauma, abuse, and mental health
Christian Rehab For Prescription Addiction
In addition to our services for street drugs and alcohol, we also offer Christian-based rehabilitation if you struggle with prescription drug addiction. According to the American Society of Addiction Medicine, an estimated 2 million people struggle with addiction to prescription pain relievers. This represents about one-tenth of all Americans who struggle with a substance abuse disorder.
We know that even though prescription drugs may be legal for prescription, they can be addictive and possibly deadly. Our treatment programs are individualized to the medication or medications that you may abuse. For example, if you are addicted to benzodiazepines, stopping these medications suddenly could lead to serious side effects, such as seizures. To reduce this risk, we can create a tapering plan with you to safely use less and less of the medication until you ultimately stop using it altogether.
For addiction to opioid medications, we can offer naltrexone (Vivitrol) therapy, a once-monthly, long-acting injection of the medication Vivitrol. The FDA has approved this medication for its ability to reduce cravings for opioids. When combined with our individual and group therapy sessions, Vivitrol therapy can be another aspect of treatment that helps ensure your success.
We have proudly helped those who struggle with drug addiction re-discover their relationship with God and use this faith to help guide them toward a sober lifestyle. For more information on the services we offer, please call us at 844-524-6873.
