How Our Alcohol Addiction Treatment Program Works
An estimated 17 million Americans struggle with an alcohol use disorder, according to the National Institute on Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism (NIAAH). Alcohol addiction can dramatically affect your life today and your health tomorrow. If you struggle with alcohol addiction, JC’s Recovery Center can help.
It’s essential to seek professional treatment when you struggle with an alcohol use disorder. This is because alcohol withdrawals can cause a severe syndrome known as the delirium tremens or DTs. Examples of symptoms that can result from the DTs include seizures, high body temperatures, and hallucinations.
At JC’s Recovery Center, there are several treatment approaches that we can take to helping you recover. They start with the detox period, which happens when you stop drinking and go through a withdrawal period. While this withdrawal period is unpleasant, it doesn’t last forever. According to the U.S. National Library of Medicine, alcohol withdrawal symptoms peak anywhere from 24 to 72 hours after taking your last drink.
After this time, you can start working with our team to help break the mental addiction to alcohol. There are several approaches to treatment, which include the following:
- Psychotherapy: Behavioral therapy can help you identify the habits, ways of thinking, and behaviors that keep you addicted to alcohol. Our one-on-one counseling programs can also help you if you struggle with mental illness, such as anxiety or depression.
- Medications: Our doctors can prescribe medications designed to help reduce your cravings for alcohol and reduce your risks for relapse. These include disulfiram (Antabuse), a medication that can make someone feel severely ill if they drink alcohol and naltrexone (Revia, Depade), which are medications prescribed to reduce cravings for alcohol.
- Support groups: JC’s Recovery offers a close-knit community of people who are also achieving sobriety. You can participate in these counselor-led groups as a means to find a strong support and encouragement system as you continue in your sobriety.
The good news is that alcohol addiction treatment works. According to the NIAAH, an estimated one-third of people who participate in treatment for an alcohol use disorder report no symptoms one year after their treatment. Others also say they drink less and have fewer alcohol problems than those who didn’t seek treatment, which shows tremendous promise for helping you break free from alcohol addiction.
How Our Drug Addiction Treatment Program Works
We offer several different drug addiction treatment programs that allow you, with the help of your loved ones and our counselors, to choose a plan that best suits your needs. Sometimes, we have clients come to our programs after they have completed an inpatient rehabilitation stay and would like to continue their treatment in a serene outpatient setting. Other times, we are the first point of access to rehabilitation. Whatever the need, we have a program that can help meet you where you are.
Examples of our drug addiction treatment programs include:
The SonShine Program: One of the key differences about our programs is that we offer faith-based options. We call these our SonShine Programs. Our SonShine Programs are either intensive outpatient or outpatient care that has a Christian basis. These programs are built around God’s Word and promise for your life and 12-step programs, which also have a basis in faith and belief in a higher power. This program offers Christian-based counseling as well as an individual, group, and family therapy options.
Partial Hospitalization Program: Our partial hospitalization program or PHP often serves as a bridge between inpatient therapy and less-intensive therapy. While you are not staying on our campus, you can choose to stay at a recommended structured community living program or live independently while completing the program. You will come to our campus-like facility daily to participate in therapy sessions and programs, and return to the residence of your choosing at night.
Intensive Outpatient Program: An intensive outpatient program is another example of a program where you live off-site and come to our campus daily. The sessions are less long than the partial hospitalization program. They also include either morning or evening sessions. Some people who work virtually or take classes online even find they can continue to do so when they come to our facility from Dallas. Some of our clients choose this option after they complete inpatient rehabilitation.
Outpatient treatment: This treatment program is often an option when you have completed a more intensive level of therapy and are ready to focus on the aspects of getting back to the “real world.” While these treatments focus on sobriety, they are often related to your daily life in your sobriety, such as how to handle temptations, stress, and emotional and physical triggers to relapse. This program is also about how to help you rebuild your life after addiction.
If your family or loved ones are traveling with you from Dallas, we also offer a Family Program where your family members can learn how to help you and themselves recover from the past and start to move forward.
As you can see, there are various options available to you when seeking treatment at our Center. If you aren’t sure where to start, please call us at (844) 524-6873. We can help answer your questions and provide guidance on what program may be the best fit for your needs.
How Our Prescription Drug Addiction Treatment Works
Prescription drug misuse has become a devastating public health crisis with more than 128 people dying in the United States daily due to prescription drug overdose, according to the National Institute on Drug Abuse. If you are one of the 1.7 million people in the United States who suffer from an addiction to prescription opioids, our treatment programs can help.
Our prescription drug treatment program is multifaceted. It includes behavioral therapy working one-on-one with a therapist. While there are multiple therapy approaches, cognitive-behavioral therapy is a common one. This involves learning about addiction and the habits that keep a person addicted. Once you identify these habits as they relate to you, you can work with a therapist to start to learn behaviors that a sober individual adopts. These include healthy habits, ways to say no to temptations to return to substance abuse, and recognizing you’re at risk for relapse.
In addition to one-on-one therapy, we also offer group therapies. Sharing your struggles with others can be very healing. Knowing that you aren’t alone, and working together to learn how to overcome these struggles can help you. Ours is an open and trusting environment where you can contribute as much or as little as possible. However, just being there and present at the meetings can help.
An additional therapy we offer for prescription drug addiction is naltrexone (Vivitrol) therapy. This medication is an injected form of the medication naltrexone that can last for up to one month, so you don’t have to take a pill every day to help treat your addiction. When you receive naltrexone, you have fewer cravings for opioids. If you try to use opioids again, they won’t have any effect on you. Ideally, this can help keep you from relapsing.
However, you must be sober for anywhere from 7 to 10 days before you can receive a Vivitrol injection. During this time, you can work with our therapists and treatment team to learn more about the habits and knowledge that will help you achieve sobriety and stay sober.
Choosing an Addiction Treatment Center for Dallas Residents
If you live in Dallas, you can choose between going to an addiction center locally or to a rehabilitation center like JC’s Recovery outside the state. While the most crucial consideration is that you seek treatment, there are benefits to looking out of state for treatment. These include:
Anonymity
At an out-of-state location, you do not have to worry about seeing people or acquaintances that you know. Instead, you can participate in recovery sessions knowing that your participation and recovery are yours alone to know and share when you are ready.
Change of Scenery
Sometimes, the sights and sounds of Dallas may only remind you of your stresses and substance abuse. Getting out of town is not an escape, but instead representative of a fresh start. Our recovery center is located in beautiful Hollywood, Florida, near Fort Lauderdale and Miami. The warmth and scenery are a peaceful and ideal place to recover. And when you’re ready, you can return to Dallas to make a fresh start.
Free of Outside Influences
Some people are very fortunate to have a reliable support system in their lives, while others understandably are not as fortunate. If you have friends, family members, or a partner who may have a negative influence on your substance abuse, going to a location outside of your home can help reduce their impact. Instead, you can be among people dedicated to your recovery and support you in your quest for sobriety. These can be essential factors in helping you succeed today, but in the future as well.
Many people come to JC’s Recovery Center from Dallas and other parts of the country because they value choosing a recovery program in another location and the therapeutic and welcoming environment that JC’s Recovery Center offers. When it is time to return home, our staff can help you pinpoint the resources you need to continue your healthy path, which includes finding support groups, therapists, or even safe housing if you have the needs.
How Much Does Rehab Cost?
Several factors affect how much rehab costs at JC’s Recovery Center. These include:
- Treatment type: The more intensive the program, the higher the price. For example, a partial hospitalization program involves spending the most hours and most extensive treatments at our rehabilitation center. Other options, such as the intensive outpatient program or outpatient program, do not include as much time as other programs. However, it’s vital to get the treatment program that is most effective for you. Choosing the most effective plan will be a cost-effective option because you ideally won’t need additional rehabilitation programs in the future.
- Treatment duration: The longer your treatment is, the more costly the program is likely to be, which doesn’t mean you should try and short-change the program as a cost-saving. According to the National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA), staying in treatment for a sufficient period is one of the key elements to successful rehabilitation treatment. The NIDA reports that many individuals who struggle with addiction will need at least three months of treatment form to succeed. This treatment can be part of an outpatient treatment program like ours and continued at your home with a therapist or support group.
- Insurance coverage: If you have health insurance, your insurance may pay for all or a portion of your rehabilitation costs. Our financial team can help you determine what part, if any, that insurance will cover. Please know that you do not have to have insurance to receive treatment at our facility. We will help you determine the best and most cost-effective way to pay for your rehabilitation.
What is most important to remember is that you didn’t reach this point in your addiction overnight. It often takes years of abuse, quitting, and relapsing to get to where you are. It’s important to consider that if it takes time to develop an addiction, it will also take time to overcome it.
